Weigh In

I haven’t been very good at putting my weigh-in updates at the end of the month, and for that I apologize.

I had my March weigh in on Monday and to be honest I was a bit nervous.  I haven’t been doing very much cardio but I have been eating decent and going to the gym twice a week.

Weight: lost 11 pounds

% of body fat: dropped 1%

Inches: lost 5 inches total

I’m actually starting to notice changes in my arms and a little bit in my legs.  I know for me to really see the changes in my stomach I’m going to need to bump up the cardio.  With the nicer weather I’m hoping to get out and walk a bit, but for now the elliptical will have to work.

I think I should start setting goals for each month.  Maybe if I put it in writing it will help me achieve them.

Goals for next months weigh in:

weight: 10 pounds

% of body fat: 2%

Inches: 7 inches total

These goals may be hard to meet but I’m really going to try hard.  Keep your fingers (and toes) crossed for me!

Picture Perfect Weekend

This weekend was so relaxing.  I caught up on sleep, cleaned the house, did laundry, hung out with friends, watched some movies, enjoyed our fire pit, and enjoyed the nice weather (even though it rained one day).

On Friday we had some friends over and grilled out and then played games.

Simpsons Clue

Saturday was gorgeous.  We had french toast for breakfast and watched movies.  For dinner we decided to grill hot dogs on our fire pit.  You can’t have a fire without making smores!  We had the marshmallows and the graham crackers but we didn’t have chocolate so we made our own!

Look at the fire burn!

We took bittersweet dark chocolate, semi sweet chocolate chips, cream cheese frosting, powdered sugar, regular sugar, and cappuccino flavored sugar and melted it all together.  We then poured it onto a baking sheet and froze it so we could end up breaking it into the perfect size pieces.

Let’s make smores!
A work of art!
This helped melt the chocolate since it was so hot!

On Sunday I slept in and when I woke up the husband decided he wanted to try making dinner in the fire pit.  We pulled out the pork tenderloin and looked up some recipes and decided to make Bourbon Glazed pork.  After we marinaded the pork we wrapped it in foil and wet paper bags and wet newspaper.  We then placed it in the fire pit under all the embers and put a board over it to keep the heat inside and the rain away!  Three hours later we had a very tender piece of pork.

The pork is cooking underneath!

Ever since my mom passed away in July I haven’t been the same.  On July 7th, 2009 I lost not only my mom but my best friend.  I used to call her everyday on my way home from work to catch up.  We never really had anything important to talk about but we would stay on the phone for 30 minutes just talking about our days and random thoughts.  I think about her every day and wish I could see her again or pick up the phone and talk to her.

My friends have noticed that I’m not who I once was and they are wanting to help.  I don’t know how they can help but I know they are trying.  There are two of my girlfriends that have really been there for me.  I don’t know what I would do without them.  They have been there for me through everything.

They know who they are and I love them both for being the best girlfriends in town!

to know that they still want you,
but the circumstances don’t let you have them.

Was that the sun I saw?

What a beautiful weekend!  After a busy week all I wanted was to relax this weekend and enjoy the weather.  No cleaning, no major cooking, no working out, no work period.

Friday after work I did work out but only for about 40 minutes.  I then went home and we decided to order pizza from one of the places we don’t go to very often (because we have to pick it up!).  We ate pizza and watched Couples Retreat.  Very funny movie.

Saturday we woke up around 10 and decided that since it was supposed to be almost 70 degrees that we needed to be outdoors.  First we went and had breakfast/lunch at one of our favorite places, It’s Just Crepes.  Then we headed north to Yellow Springs and John Bryan park.  When I was in high school we used to go to camp and on the way home from camp we would stop at Young’s Dairy for some amazing ice cream!  Since it has been many years since then we decided to go again.  It was PACKED! There were a million people there and a LONG line to get ice cream.  When it was finally our turn I went for the waffle cone with peanut butter cup (roasted peanut butter ice cream with mini peanut butter cups) and the chocolate caramel toffee.  Hubs got mint chocolate chip.  All was delicious!  We then headed home and grilled out for dinner.

Sunday we got up around 10 again and I made french toast and then we ran to the grocery store.  We decided to visit one of the newer stores near us because they have a jewelry store in there and my ring needs to be cleaned and polished.  2 hours later we finally left!!! I knew the manager at the jewelry store so we sat and talked for a while.  Finally we headed home and attempted to watch Precious.  I was still tired so I fell asleep only 30 minutes into the movie (oops!) so we put on something more upbeat.  Dinner time rolled around and we had steak and potatoes on the grill! YUMMY! We then decided to watch The Princess and the Frog.  Surprisingly, it was a cute movie.  Off to bed we went!

A great weekend of relaxation, good company, fun movies, and catching up on some much needed sleep!

I think I finally found a theme I might like

I really wish I knew HTML and codes and what not.  I want a new look for my blog but can’t seem to find anything I like.

Today when I logged in I saw an announcement that a new theme was available, so I decided to take a look and this is what I found. The Wood theme.  I actually like it.  Still not exactly what I was looking for but it works, for now.
