Time flies…

I realized that I haven’t written in a while and for that I apologize.  Life has been interesting lately.  Things have gone on that I haven’t wanted to share.  And the rest of the happenings in my life are so boring no one would care!

I think it has been two months since my last weigh in update.  Unfortunately, I don’t really have an update.  The gym bought a new scale that shows the accurate weight which is 30 pounds different then the old one.  Luckily, the new one matches the one I have at home so I didn’t pass out when I saw the number.  But… because the scale was accurate my other numbers were not able to be compared to the last weigh in.

Since I have a new trainer now, we decided it would be best to start fresh… a clean slate you could say.  I haven’t made as much progress as I would like but I can’t blame anyone but myself.  I normally only have two 30 minutes training sessions a week but now I’m doing two 30 minute sessions and one hour session a week.  I think by Friday I will want to keel over and die.  If after a month I do NOT see results I will be one unhappy lady.

Great Weekend

What a great weekend!

Friday – worked out (more on that later)… followed by a relaxing night at home

Saturday – woke up and went to the in-laws.  My mother in law and I went and had facials and then we all had lunch together.  After lunch we headed back to their house and the guys play pool while us ladies relaxed (I even took a quick nap).  We then went to J. Alexander’s for dinner… YUMMY!  I hadn’t been there in forever.  It was amazingly delicious!  We came home and hung out and I fell asleep on the couch (oops!)

Sunday – woke up around 11 (yes, I know that is late) and had white chocolate macadamia nut pancakes! DELICIOUS! Since the temperature was cool and the sun was out we decided to do yard work. Oh joy!  After two hours of working on the yard we had all the weeds pulled, bushes trimmed, and patio swept!  After cleaning up we decided to watch a movie.

I did think about my mom quite a bit yesterday.  My sister found a great poem that fit perfectly for the day.

If roses grow in Heaven, Lord

Please pick a bunch for me.

Place them in my Mother’s arms

And tell her they’re from me.

Tell her I love her and miss her,

And when she turns to smile,

Place a kiss upon her cheek

And hold her for a while.

Because remembering her is easy,

I do it everyday,

But there is an ache within my heart

That will never go away.

Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day!

Honestly, this year I’m not completely looking forward to mother’s day.  This is the first one without my mom.  I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful step mom and an amazing mother in law but without my mom it will be different.  Since my step mom lives in Vegas we won’t be able to spend any time with her.  I am spending tomorrow with my mother in law.  We are starting the day with a facial, followed by lunch with our husbands and then she and I may do some shopping.  It should be a good day!

On mother’s day itself I’m probably going to do yard work or house work.  Nothing exciting.

Yes I’m changing my theme… AGAIN!

I love signing in to WordPress and seeing that a new theme has been added.  Normally the themes aren’t very fun but I really like the look of this one so I changed.  Hopefully this will be the last time until I’m able to really create something I like but until then this will do!

Today is the Day!

I am so excited!  I’m going to get my hair cut and colored today.  I know for some that is nothing to write home about, but for me it is something I look forward to.  I love sitting back and having someone wash my hair and style it.  I get one evening to look pretty because we all know it won’t look the same when you try to do it on your own!

I will try to take a picture when it is all said and done!

Alcohol and Art!

Yesterday I sent my husband to the store to get a few items.  He came home not only with the few items but he did say he bought one extra item for me.  As you all know we are on a budget and so when either of us go to the store we try to stick to the budget as best as we can.

Let me give you some background before I tell you what he got me.  I am a huge fan of painting pottery.  I am always asking him if he will go with me, and while he says he will some day, he still hasn’t.  There is something therapeutic about painting to me.  I also love coconut rum.  When we were in Jamaica I was in heaven!

So, the item my husband came home with is the new Malibu by U.  It is a plain white bottle and comes with four markers and you can color the bottle!  How fun! Two of my favorite things: art and alcohol!

(bad picture since it was taken with my phone… sorry)
